  5. Here's a listing of current computer hardware (and some software) with the
  6. prices charged as of June 5th for departmental orders at the University of
  7. Michigan (Ann Arbor). U-M is a member of the Apple Consortium but sets its
  8. own prices for faculty and students. In my experience the U-M prices are a
  9. bit higher than those set by other universities. This report will give you
  10. a notion of what current prices are (something that is not easy to obtain
  11. at many other universities, whose computer purchasing offices do not
  12. prepare comprehensive lists or do not update them frequently).

  14. Also, this particular list serves as a handy reference to what is
  15. available, since it is a descriptive list with much information. For
  16. example, here's a typical listing:
